Product Description
Math word problems can be a challenging concept. These early reader Valentine story problems make solving word problems fun and enjoyable. Write in your students’ names to maximize engagement and add a way to ‘act out the math problem’ and visualize it.

These early reader Valentine word problems support students to tackle both the words and the math of the story problem by using high frequency words and repeated phrases. Perfect for early readers, beginners in word problems, or an independent work station.

The space to write in student names provides both meaning and fun to help your students be excited about solving the story problem mystery.

How to Use:

Copy onto colored paper. I used pink and red paper.
You can also use 3 different colors for easy sorting and clean up.
Laminate and cut out.
Write in student names.
*Tip - make sure the pronouns match the name you chose. Keep a list of who you have used for math task cards.

Model in whole group or small group until students have demonstrated understanding of the task and the unfamiliar words. Invite students to work and learn in small group math stations or independent work stations.
