A great way to improve students reading skills is to teach the seven syllable types and the four syllable division patterns. In this holiday activity, kids will practice dividing or combining two syllable words using closed, open, consonant -le, Bossy R, and vowel team syllables. There are several different uses for this set of cards which increases the bang for your buck! This activity fits well with both Wilson and Orton-Gillingham methods. These are also two methods that are recommended by the Denver Children's Hospital for students with dyslexia. Happy Valentine's Day!!!
