1 ~ Valentine’s Day Reader's Theater ( ~ Valentine’s Day Reader's Theater includes three stories for students to practice their fluency, expression, and oral reading skills. This product includes three stories about Valentine’s Day topics. The first story is about 3 chocolate candies waiting to be bought for Valentine’s Day (self-esteem theme). The second story is about a conversation between a mom and son and his hesitation about his school Valentine’s Day party. The third story is about a conversation between Cupid and Love (loving yourself theme).
• The characters/readers’ parts are highlighted in different colors (there is also a version that is not highlighted to save on colored ink if you choose).
• This activity would be ideal to practice Daily 5's Listen to Reading and Read to Someone components.
• This activity is ideal for 1st to 2nd grade students. Older grade level students (3-4th) that are below grade level could utilize this product as well.
• Embedded in the scripts is the potential to practice identification of contractions AND pronunciation of multisyllabic words with pronunciation tools.

2 ~ Valentines Day Color by Numbers. Number Recognition, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division! Your students will enjoy this cute Valentine's Day themed activity. Included are 9 activity sheets (the sheets are divided into 3 Picture Themes: (1) A Bear Holding Heart-shaped Balloons, (2) Cupcakes, and (3) A Box of Conversation Hearts. Each Picture Theme has 3 levels of difficulty: (Level 1) Number Recognition and Simple Addition, (Level 2) Addition and Subtraction, and (Level 3) Multiplication and Division. Students will complete the activity forms by recognizing numbers and solving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems. They will then color the pictures by referencing a Color Code Key. This activity can be useful to teachers and students in grades K-3. It can also serve classrooms that have students at various levels of math skills...that way they can all be coloring the same picture but working on their individual math skills level. 3 ~ Valentine's Day ~ Be My Vowel-entine! Valentine's Day is a great chance to give students a super fun activity to practice short and long vowel sound knowledge.
This activity provides students an opportunity to practice recognition of short and long vowel sounds. The list of words included in this activity includes words that have the short and long A, E, I, O, or U sound(s). It also exposes students to the various spellings of short and long vowel sounds. This activity is appropriate for individual or partner work, also can be used as a center activity.
This activity includes 12 large hearts each with a vowel letter printed in the center to be used as sorting pieces and two hearts for word card storage. Also included Are 240 word cards with words containing short and long vowel sounds. 4 student activity sheets are included as well. (2 sheets -students will identify 2 out of 3 words/pictures that have the same vowel sound. 2 sheets -students will identify a word from a list of 3 that contain a given vowel sound.) I suggest laminating the large hearts and the list of words first, then using a paper cutter or scissors to cut them. This activity can be helpful for students at various grades and abilities (advanced Kindergarten to struggling third grade). Enjoy!
4 ~ Valentine's Day ~ Conversation Hearts ~(Valentine Themed Activity!) Students will L-O-V-E to learn about using Quotation marks in dialogue/conversation. This activity includes 9 colorful hearts with Valentine themed dialogue, students will use a dry erase marker to fill in the missing punctuation (quotes, commas, etc.). Also included is a practice page with 20 dialogue sentences, student will fill in the missing punctuation. Also included is large (160pt font) punctuation marks (Quotation marks, commas, periods, exclamation marks and question marks) ready to be used on whiteboard Quotation sentences, butcher paper sentences, or sentence strip Quotation sentences, students will use the Big Punctuation to complete the Quotation sentences.
