This a great activity set that will engage your students during the Valentine's Holiday!
It also has a Valentine Class List sheet for the teacher! Just fill in the names of each student in class and send it home before the holiday, so children can write the names of their classmates without missing anyone!
This set also includes the following activities:
1 Memory Matching Game (2 Pages)
Cut out Candy Heart Cards. Turn face down and students take turns trying to find matches. The person with the most matches at the end of the game is the winner. Print on cardstock and laminate so it will last longer.
2 Coloring Pages
Students color a bouquet of flowers and/or a February Bee Mine coloring page.
1 Valentine Card Foldable
Students write and design a card for someone special. Fold along the lines to turn it into a foldable.
1 Decorate the Candy Heart Page
Students create and design their own candy heart!
1 Bear Hug Notes Page
Students can draw or write a note to someone special. There are two notes per page.
1 A to Z List
Students create a list of words describing the Valentine's Day holiday.
1 Acrostic Poem Page
Students create a poem using the letters in Valentine.
1 Heart Writing Paper
This blank writing sheet is to be used at your discretion. Use for free writing or provide a prompt for your students.
1 Cut & Shuffle Word Find
First, students cut out the letters in Valentines. Then they arrange them into words. Students will write the words they create using the sheet provided. My students and I have a contest to see who can come up with the most words!
1 KWL Chart
Students record what they know, what they want to know, and what they learn about Valentine's day.
The first two columns I fill out with the class before the holiday. The last column we fill out after the holiday.
1 Valentine Bubble Map
Students describe the holiday.
1 Valentine Venn Diagram
Students compare and contrast Valentine's Day to another holiday.
1 Writing Illustration Page
Students will observe the illustration and create their own story about it.
1 Valentine Word Search
Students will search for Valentine Holiday words. There are no backward words or diagonal words.
Students will complete the maze to help Cupid find the heart.
1 Heart Map
Students draw or write about what they love in the compartments of their heart.
1 Accordion Love Card
Students decorate the L-O-V-E card and fold it along the lines to turn it into an accordion.
I recommend using cardstock so you can use decorations like glitter glue and foam stickers.
1 Puppy Puppet Craftivity (2 Pages)
Students color and cut out the hearts. Then they assemble them to create their Hearty Puppy Puppet.
Attach to a small paper bag or popsicle stick.
1 Heart Symmetry Page
Students complete the other half of the heart. I encourage my students to make it as symmetrical as possible.
