This is a set of 6 different Valentine's Day themed mystery puzzles that students color in. Students will receive simple base ten problems that they have to complete in order to know what color each box represents. They are fairly simple problems from 1-99, but it helps students math skills with counting by tens. The six pictures are a heart, a letter, some candy, a calendar, flowers, and a teddy bear.
I have included a teacher's answer key, the boxes in an Excel spreadsheet and also a Word document. There is also a student's copy to print that will include the picture and the problems all in one page to help save in printing costs (I condensed the picture and the problems a bit so that they all fit on one page) But if you prefer the picture and problems to be bigger so it's easier to read, I have included a Word document that is two pages for each picture.
If you have further suggestions on more things to create or to help with your classes, I am always open to your ideas and suggestions. Also if you would like me to create more complex mathematical problems with the base ten blocks (addition, subtraction, etc.), please let me know and I would be happy to do that as well.
