Do you need a fun activity for your class Valentine's Day party? Maybe you just want something fun for Valentine's Day. This BINGO game will keep your kids' attention. This is suitable for upper elementary because the students will actually be cutting out the conversation heart cards and gluing them on the pre-made board. By doing this, they get to pick where they want their cards to go, Basically they are creating their own game board. That's part of the fun.:-)
An extra bonus: Use the fun sayings on the board as writing prompts. Possibly have them use the words in sentences or write a short Valentine's story. Perfect for a substitute activity or rainy day recess too!
When the students go to play the game, each student will get a Valentine's "conversation heart" themed BINGO board. They will also get a sheet that has 32 conversation heart picture cards. The cards come in black and white and also in color (using 4 different colored hearts).
Students will take a few minutes to cut out the heart cards and decide where they want to glue them on their BINGO board. They will mix them up before gluing down, so that all boards in the class will most likely be different. Eight answer cards will be left over, so not every kid will have every answer on their board.
The teacher will have a copy of the heart cards too, and those are the cards the teacher will pull and call out.
When the students win, they can yell 'HEART!" instead of bingo. :-)
If you want to 'recycle' the boards year after year, just have this year's class make the boards, color them, etc. Get them laminated, and you can reuse year after year.
Have fun with this Valentine's Day Bingo game!
