Student practice decomposing numbers 5 and 10 using conversation candy hearts in this easy to prep Valentine's Day themed math center.
Includes 4 recording tools! You can have students practice decomposing 5 or 10 and you can choose from the recording tools with equations or the recording tools with words if you have not taught equations yet.
Shake and spill the conversation candy hearts onto the table and count how many candy hearts are face up (words) and how many are face down (no words).
Then use two colors to record the two groups on the recording tool and fill in the blanks or equations below.
