Get your students up and moving with this fun Valentine's Day themed matching game! This is an activity that involves composers and their famous pieces. The red hearts are the composers and the pink cards are their matching Valentine’s Day cards. The object of the game is for the correct Valentine’s Day card to find the correct composer. Begin the game by reviewing the composers and their corresponding pieces (optional). Then, distribute the composers and Valentine’s Day cards amongst the students. When the students hear the music you play, they may begin walking around the classroom trying to find their matches. The students with the Valentine’s cards are to ask the question on their card to a student with a composer heart. The composer hearts answer yes or no to the questions. When the students hear the music stop, they must freeze and remain silent until the music resumes. Once the composer and Valentine card have their match, the students sit down on the floor in silence until everyone has found their match. Continue stopping and starting the music until all matches are found!
