Valentine's Day Gratitude Love Bug | Craftivity and Writing | Social and Emotional Development

Spread love this Valentine's Day by beginning (or continuing) a gratitude practise with the Gratitude Love Bug! For children, building a sense of gratitude can be an excellent way to boost resilience, enhance well-being, and encourage a positive outlook on life.

The Gratitude Love Bug

The Gratitude Love Bug can be used as a stand alone craftivity, an activity in a three day mini-series (included) or as the beginning of your new classroom gratitude practise. However you choose to use it, it is easy and fun!

Students colour or paint the Love Bug and assemble it with a butterfly clip and a staple. Then the Love Bug’s wings open to reveal a place for student's to write down two things they are grateful for; one about themselves and one about someone else. This gets students thinking positively about themselves and others. Students can share their creations and insights with one another. These can also be hung on a bulletin board creating a beautiful 3D effect (titles included).

There is also a Gratitude Journal template included for continued gratitude practise.

The journal activity is great for daily writing practise, early finishers or a class project.
