This is a game to practice comparing numbers 1-100. Two game board options are provided if you prefer to save ink. You will need to print a game board for each player.
How to Play Valentine Greater Than Less Than
Each player needs one game board. Place all number cards face down in a stack. The first player chooses the top card and places it on his/her game board, knowing cards range in number from
0-100. Once a number has been placed on a board it CANNOT be moved. If a player draws a card that will not fit correctly on his/her board, that card should be placed on the bottom of the draw pile and that player loses that turn. The first player to correctly fill their
entire board wins!
A Note to the Teacher
This game requires critical thinking skills as well as an understanding of greater than and less than. Before playing explain to students the strategy behind placing their cards on their board. For example, the number 5 should probably be placed on a “less than” side (5<__ or __>5) since most numbers in the stack are greater than 5. If a student chooses to place the 5 in the “greater than” spot (5>__), they are less likely to draw a number that will correctly complete that fact.
Students will love playing this fun game with a Valentine's Day theme!
