Product Description
A Valentines Day activity for students learning to solve two step equations, or for a review activity on Valentine's Day. This activity is also ideal for a review for students who have already taken Algebra I. Students refine their skills dealing with solving equations but also their inductive reasoning skills, as some answers are repeated but the puzzle will only work out one way.
This puzzle contains two step algebra equations in the form of a 4 x 4 grid where students match up the answer next to the original equation. There are five versions of the puzzle included which vary in the amount of graphics to allow for differentiation amongst ability groups. As the number of graphics increases, so does the difficulty. Roman numerals are also included in the middle of the pieces so that you can quickly check if the student is correct or refer to the equation they are working on if they need help.
Your purchase includes a PDF file of the puzzle. Although it isn't necessary for use, it is recommended you print the puzzle on cardstock and have it laminated prior to cutting it out so it can last for years to come. Be sure to cut out the pieces prior to passing them out to students, as the pre-cut puzzles are the answer key as well.
