Thank you for downloading this resource! This resource has been created with elementary students in mind. It can be used with lessons on narrative writing with opportunities for sentence building, paragraph writing, and other opportunities for writing practice in the classroom. This would be a great activity to place in a writing center, use after a whole group lesson, or even complete in groups. The possibilities are abundant!
I have included 3 narrative writing prompts. The Valentine’s Day words are on two pages. The first page includes a list of the words separated by parts of speech. I have left the number of required words blank so that you can fill it in with your requirement to allow for differentiation. There are 42 words in total. The second page of words includes all of the words in a chart. Both lists contain the same words, but the second chart can be used with younger students. They can cut out each word and then place it on their writing paper and create their sentences around them. This can be great for sentence building. Students love being able to cut out the words and moving and manipulating them makes this an easier activity for younger students or students in upper grades who need a differentiated task.
There are graphic organizers for building a longer story or a short paragraph.
There are two different designs of stationery for you to choose from. As most teachers do not have unlimited access to color copiers, all of the designs are black and white friendly. I have included a page with a name and without for each design, in case students need more than one page. I have also included a picture that you can have each student color to compliment their work if you display it.
As always, please contact me BEFORE leaving feedback if you have any issues with this product. I am happy to help whenever I can!
