This activity incorporated Spanish Conversation Hearts (available in Spanish at Target), but it could work well with homemade paper hearts or no hearts. Students are asked to write two Valentine's day poems in Spanish and create a card for each. They are given information/ examples of five options: diamonte, free verse, acrostic, lymerick, or rap.
I bring in colored paper, fun scissors, scrapbooking stuff, etc for the students to use, but that's up to you. Many of my students are from low-income families and they often use this activity as a means to create Valentine's day gifts for their moms and significant others.
I this activity with Spanish 1- AP Spanish V, providing Valentine's vocabulary and extra help for the lower levels. I cannot get the preview to work for this because of the graphics. If you send me an email, I'll be happy to send over a print screen.
