This Valentine's Day project based learning activity for math and writing is a great way to use a real-life topic (candy grams) to practice your standards! In this fun project-based learning (PBL) activity for 4th and 5th grades, your students will use key standards in a real-life scenario! These standards include reading comprehension, collaboration, persuasive writing, decimal (or whole number) operations. Differentiation is included!

Driving Question: How can we make and sell candy grams that will make a reasonable profit for our school fundraiser?

Students are encouraged to come up with their own unique candy gram designs, and then they do the math to find the materials cost and profit!
