During Valentine's week, your students will be in love with these activities! Get them excited about Valentine's Day by incorporating the following activities in your classroom:

"My Candy Heart is Racing": An experiment that implements the scientific method to see how fast students can dissolve a candy conversation heart

"Color Carnations": An investigation of how colored water runs through the stem of a flower via transpiration.

"Have a Heart": Make a model of heart using a jar, balloons, and straws, this simulates the basic pumping functions of the human heart.

"Heart Chart": Students observe a diagram of the human heart and try to label each chamber by reading descriptions. (NO PREP!)

"Leap Year Cheer": Understand what "leap year" is and why we use it through reading, looking at a diagram, doing math problems, and answering basic comprehension questions. (NO PREP!)
