Description

This can be a stand alone Valentines Day worksheet, a way to introduce love poetry or a link to texts such as Romeo and Juliet.

Resource includes five tasks

  1. Explore similes about love taken from 19 classic rap and r and b songs including Alicia Keys, 50 cent and Beyonce.
  2. Students group similes according to the imagery they create.
  3. Inference -what might each song quote suggest about love.
  4. Pupils make a found poem based on the love imagery they have explored.
  5. Analytical questions about the language and structure of the song All Of Me by John Legend before they turn the song into a letter.
