Product Description

Use your preschool students' love of dinosaurs to your advantage by using this fun Valentine's Day inference activity with a dinosaur theme that targets object functions, peer interactions, "who" questions, and following directions with letters to Cupid-saurus the Dinosaur!

Included are two sets of the same activity- one for a whole group circle time lesson for up to 15 students, and one modified for individual or small group therapy, up to 4 students. However, you CAN use the whole group version in a small group, too.

In this activity, your students will listen to letters written to Cupid-saurus from the dinosaurs, find the correct gifts based on the description in the letters, and give that gift to the correct classmate/peer.

WHOLE GROUP/CIRCLE TIME:

The whole group instruction set includes 15 different dinosaur characters, with 2 letters/envelopes per each dinosaur (thus, each student will get to take 2 turns and will receive 2 items).

How to play:

Each student chooses a dinosaur. (I tape mine to popsicle sticks for easy holding, but this isn’t necessary). One at a time, your students pull an envelope from the mailbox or envelope (a printable mailbox is included if you don't have your own). You can work on “who” questions by asking “who” the letter is from (the dinosaur in the corner). Read the letter, have your student determine what the clue is talking about, find the right gift, and deliver it to their peer who is holding that dinosaur. See the preview for more detailed information!

INDIVIDUAL/SMALL GROUP THERAPY:

Includes 4 different dinosaur characters, with 9 letters/envelopes per dinosaur (thus, with 4, each student will get to take 9 turns and will receive 9 items). Ideas for how to play with fewer than 4 students is included in the preview/download.

Students will each pull out a letter, solve the clue, and deliver the right gifts to their peers!
