Valentine's Day Spin and Build Building Blocks

STEM CHALLENGE: Create beautiful Valentine's Day-themed pictures with building blocks spin and build mats. It is a fun way of learning colors and great fine motor skill activities, to enhance hand muscles and pincer grasp (basic skills needed for writing).

NOTE: You may use any brand of building blocks available, sizes used are 2x2, 2x6 and 2x4. Alternatively, you can use colored markers or crayons in the absence of building blocks.

There are three types of play:

• Level 1 Beginners: designed for younger children, the building block puzzles are in colored version. Spin and identify the color, select a block with the corresponding color and place/match it to the puzzle mat.
• Level 2 Intermediate: the pattern block puzzles are in an outline (no colors) version, this is designed for older children who can progress from Level 1 quickly. A colored building block picture is provided in the mat to guide the child informing the picture.
• Level 3 MAKE YOUR OWN COLOR CODE: designed for those who wants to make their own color coded building block puzzle mats.
