My kiddos loved creating their own tree diagrams and I hope yours will too! This Valentine's Day student activity booklet asks students to create Valentine's products that a store would sell (cupcakes, roses, chocolates, etc.) and then generate tree diagrams based on features of those products.
Three versions are included so you can differentiate by class period or by student:
1) The first is completely open-ended. Students create all products, features, options, and tree diagrams.
2) The second version is more guided. The product types (ex: roses) are given as well as three features of each (ex: color, style of vase, size of bouquet). Students make up options for each feature (such as three colors, three vase styles, etc.) and generate tree diagrams.
3) The third version has all information filled in. Students simply create the tree diagrams. An answer key is included for this version!
Each versions includes its own cover page. Two styles of back pages are included as well so students can illustrate some of the combinations and create an advertisement for their imaginary Valentine's shop. My students LOVE when I staple a booklet two or three times down the side, so product is designed to be assembled like that.
