Ready to get your classroom or the hallway outside your classroom decorated for Valentine's Day? Do you have some wall space that you would like filled with a colorful and neat looking display?
This set of pages includes a formatted spelling of the words "HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!" in a bubble letter font. It also includes two pictures of hearts.
(1) Purchase and print out each letter (and as many hearts as you desire) so that each of your students gets either one letter or one heart to color. For example, if you have a class size of 25 students, print each of the following - HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! - and 6 hearts so that each student has something to color.
(2) The display looks best when students use crayon or colored pencil to color, creating ANY pattern or solid design to fill their letter or heart. Explain to only color inside the letter, and leave the outside white.
(3) Once they are finished, you, the teacher, should outline the letter using a thick, black marker.
(4) Mat each letter or heart on a piece of pink or red construction paper, tape the back, and hang up on wall space in the hallway or in your classroom!
This can be used as a center, morning work, an activity, or basically any way you would like to incorporate it into your day! My students loved making it and displaying it in the hall, and I think your students will, too! Enjoy!
