This product is a for a set of 12 word problems with a Valentine's Day theme. They include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, perimeter, and area word problems. The problems are a mix of one and two-step word problems. There is a recording sheet for students to complete the work and record their answers.
In my own classroom, I have printed out 2 copies of each set. In class, pass out the cards to students. They walk around and find the other student who has the same card number as them. The pair sits down together and solves the problem, recording their answer on the sheet. Repeat and share when finished.
I have found that it turns somewhat monotonous word problem practice into an engaging, fun activity.
I have also used them in an independent math center.
