Celebrate Valentine's Day with this "Search, Color, and Write" activity pack. That's right! It includes a word search, a coloring activity, and writing paper to add to your banner piece. It is perfect to assign to recognize Valentine's Day in February and will add color and pizzazz to your classroom displays.
My students always love word searches, and they really love when I give them time to color. This pack includes both of those PLUS a writing paper component if you choose to use it. Your students will love their finished product because it is fun, whimsical, and different. They will be proud of the finished display of banner pieces.
What are the three components that make up the Search, Color, and Write activity pack?
Can the banner pieces be turned into a long class banner? Yes. Once all students have completed coloring their banner piece, you can hang them side by side for a fun Valentine themed bulletin board or hallway display. I have also had teachers take my individual student banners and just staple them individually onto their bulletin board and not connect them to form one long banner. You can display the banners however you would like in your classroom.
NOTE: If you have any questions about the product or your are unsure about something, please do not hesitate to send me a message through the Q and A before you make your purchase. This will help to ensure that you are happy with your purchase, which is my main goal. :-)
Do kids have to do all three activities? Not really. For example, you could just give them the banner page as a Valentine's Day Coloring Activity. This might be fun for morning work, indoor recess, early finishers, or even for a substitute. You could also have them do the word search part with the banner but not have them do the writing component. You pick what works best for you.
What are Pattern Pictures? They are fun themed pictures with patterns behind the image. When students color the patterns in a variety of different colors, the finished product is whimsical and fun. For the most pep or POP from your pictures, tell your students to use lots of different colors and try not to have two of the same colors touching. Each poster looks unique when finished due to students picking their colors for each section. I have an entire line of pattern pictures which can be found by CLICKING HERE.

✱Use the words in a short narrative telling about the holiday or topic.
