Valentine's Day activities and crafts for kids. I am always amazed at how much students love to make this craft activity. Perhaps it is the easy straight cuts and yet the simple steps result in such a striking end product! These bright Valentine's Day lanterns are great decor in your classroom or for your students to take home. All you will need are scissors and glue. Straight cuts makes this fun and easy to accomplish for the little ones. Using scissors teaches kids the grasp-release motion and how to cut on a line, both skills considered to be pre-writing skills. Practicing this will improve hand strength.
*Please note that this activity is ALREADY included in the Valentine's Day SUPER SALE listing on my Store for $9.99 for all 11 activities.*
All my crafts and activities are purposefully designed to be fun, easy to accomplish without taking too much classroom time (most are 4-6 steps), and incorporate multiple fine motor skills to help the kids practice and improve the small muscles of the hand, hand and eye coordination, depth perception, and grip. As you will see in the pictures, my daughter demonstrates various steps for how your kids can do it, too.
