This resource includes a three-page informational passage about how Valentine cards originated and how they have changed through the ages. It is written to for grades 3-5 reading levels.
Included are:
~ two pages of text-dependent comprehension questions, requiring the students to go back in the text to find the answers
~ a page where they can cut out dates and events to create a timeline for the evolution of Valentine's Day cards
~ a page with cause and effect situations from the passage for students to look back in the text and complete the chart
~ each printable page has an answer key for easy checking
