•Beginning sound match. Look at the picture card and figure out the what the beginning sound is for each picture. Students can then record their answers on the response sheet. They can either write the whole word or just the beginning sound.
•Nonsense Word Sort: Have students put the cards on either the nonsense words or real word mat. For the recording page have them look at the picture that matches the card and circle if the word is real or nonsense.
•Candy Hearts: Have candy hearts and have students look for the words love, me, you and yes. Have them graph what they find and answer the questions.
•PSF game: Pull a card and sound out the words. Students move their game pieces to the matching picture on the board if they got it correct.
•Middle Match: Cut and laminate cards if you want to. Students can write their answer on the card, or use magnetic letters to put in the middle. On the recording paper students look at the picture and record the whole word.
