If your class studies the American Revolution and specifically its major events, this set will really add to your products. In December of 1777, Washington's poorly equipped Continental Army staggered into Valley Forge, Pennsylvania to set up winter quarters while the British occupied Philadelphia. Washington's troops endured frigid temperatures, and inadequate food, shelter, and supplies, yet endured under the strong leadership of Washington and German military advisor, Baron Von Steuben, and France's Marquis de Lafayette. Included in this set are images of Washington, Washington with Von Steuben, soldiers by a campfire; a desolate winter landscape,, Washington's headquarters, hastily built cabins, (2 images) Lafayette, a map locating Valley Forge, and a sign marking the time and place.
