Included here are four separate worksheets featuring value scales. One is a handout for teaching students to shade using pressure. This process shows students that more pressure can show a darker value, while less pressure can show a lighter value. Next is one to teach stippling--applying more dots closer together provides the illusion of a darker shade, while spacing them apart makes it appear lighter. Also included are hatching and crosshatching versions--more lines closer together provides the illusion of darker shades, spaced apart appears lighter.
Each handout has two separate value scales, one for the teacher to fill in as an example before copying for students to fill in the other scale.
