Introduce students to identifying parts of expressions, translating algebraic expressions, and comparing algebraic expressions.
-Identify variables, coefficients, terms, and constants in algebraic expressions.
-Rewrite algebraic expressions using words and vice versa.
-Compare nonequivalent algebraic expressions using symbols (< or >).
Use the guided notes to introduce or review the topics as a whole class. Pause to give students a chance to try the guided practice problems and discuss common misconceptions. Allow students to try the independent practice problems at the end of the notes to check for understanding. If necessary, eight homework problems are included for extra practice or for use as another form of assessment.
This product will be part of a unit bundle when the unit is completed. Stay tuned!!
