This interactive lesson teaches students about the 3 types of variables (independent, dependent, and control). The first slide allows students to use the “magic eraser” to reveal the definitions of each variable, then they sort characteristics about each one. There are two mini-experiments typed out that students can use to identify real-life examples of each variable. After variables, types of questions are explored (researchable, testable, and observational). Students brainstorm questions and the teacher sorts them to encourage students to discover characteristics about the 3 types of questions. Then, there is a reveal page to summarize the questions and provide some word clues to help them identify them in the future.
