This lesson is designed to give students an active and collaborative opportunity to review the Vector Lesson from their high school Geometry class. Vectors, in Geometry, give students an application for Right Triangle Trigonometry and a glimpse into the vectors they will learn about in higher levels of mathematics.
For this activity, students work in groups to solve various problems from a problem page. Each group member chooses one problem per row, initialing the problem to "claim it." A student work page is provided so students can work on their own paper. Once solved, students go to the group target - a target image containing all answers for the activity - to initial answers. This target can be with the groups at their desks or hung up on a wall to encourage movement.
Students continue this process of solving and finding solutions. They add up their points and the group with the most correct target answers AND the highest points will win! Easier problems are worth lower points and more difficult ones are worth more.
For an engaging, collaborative and competitive review activity, get this Target Review for Vectors. Your students will never have more fun with math!
