Product Description

Assignments A and 5A can be used at socrative.com. The socrative share numbers are included in the files.

Included in this zip folder are 13 Power Point files. 9 are assignments and 4 are instruction files. A brief description of each:

Power Point instruction file #1 is a 30 slide file that introduces the learner to the 4 major parts of a vector:

1. x component

2. y component

3. Magnitude

4. Directional angle

Formative assessment problems are included from vectors in both component(rectangular) and polar form.

Power Point instruction file #2 is a 19 slide instruction file that reveals vectors can't be added in polar form.

Power Point instruction file #3 is an 18 slide instruction file that reveals vectors can be added in component(rectangular) form.

Power Point instruction file # 4 is a 15 slide file over a vector scaler.

Assignment file A is a 15 question multiple choice assignment. Each question is on a rectangular grid. The student must identify the component form of the vector. It is on 1 page for easy printing. It is also available at socrative.com if you desire.

Assignment file #1 is a 20 question matching assignment. 10 vectors are given on a rectangular grid. The student must match the 10 vectors to its rectangular and polar forms. It is on 1 page for easy printing.

Assignment file #1A is like #1

Assignment file #2 is a 20 question matching assignment. The student is given points on a rectangular plane. The student must draw vectors between the points and match the vector to its polar and component forms. It is on 1 page for easy printing.

Assignment #3 is a 20 question matching assignment. The student is given coordinates of 4 points and must make 10 vectors from these points and match the vector to its polar and component forms. It is on 1 page for easy printing.

Assignment #4 is a short answer assignment. The student is given 10 vectors in different forms such as polar form, component form(standard and i,j form), on a rectangular grid and on a polar grid. The student must find or state the x component, y component, magnitude and directional angle of the vector. It is on 1 page for easy printing.

Assignment #5 is a short answer assignment. The student must use vector addition and scaler multiplication to find the x component, y component, magnitude and directional angle of the resultant vector. The given vectors are in different forms. It is on 1 page for easy printing.

Assignment #5A is like #5. It is also available at socrative.com. The socrative share number is included in the file.

Assignment #6 is resultant vector assignment. 2 people are pulling on the collar of a dog. Each person has a vector. The dog has the resultant vector. The vectors of the people are given in polar form. The student is scripted to find the 4 components of the peoples vectors and add the rectangular parts. Then, the the student uses the rectangular parts of the dogs vector to find its magnitude and directional angle. There are 3 scripted problems in this file, each on 1 page.
