I created this for a high school, special education setting and use pictures of actual vehicles so it is age appropriate for older students, but can also be used for students of all ages.
This can be used as a cut and paste independent activity, or as a center activity. A great addition to your transportation unit.
There are three categories: Things that travel on land, things that travel in water, and things that travel in the air.
I have included 8 colored labeled pictures of actual vehicles for each category. They include an airplane, helicopter, hot air balloon, blimp, drone, parachute, hand glider and a fighter jet for the air category. In the water category I included pictures of a sailboat, ship, canoe, kayak, motorboat, submarine, jet ski, and a hover craft. An automobile, truck, unicycle, school bus, tank, fire truck, ambulance, and a motorcycle are pictures of vehicles that travel on land.
Also included are three 8-frame mats that are labeled - Things that travel on water, on land and in the air.
I cut apart the vehicle card and laminate them, add velcro to the backs of the vehicle cards and put the other side of velcro in each block on the 8-frame tray.
