This activity acts as a review and self assessment for students regarding the powers of the Legislative and Executive Branches. Students will receive a list of powers and will be required to categorize them as an Executive power, a Legislative power, or a shared power between the two branches. Furthermore, to push Advanced Government students who will need to know even more specifically which house of Congress is involved in the power, students are asked to clarify which individual house holds the power with an identifying S (Senate), H (House), or B (both). However, this is optional. Works well for either Advanced or regular government. This may be used as either an individual assignment or with partners/small groups and usually keeps students pretty engaged.
