Compare and contrast artist’s individual works or separate artists’ bodies of work with this Venn Diagram!
Works easily as a sub activity, individual activity, or whole group
instruction...view and discuss the artworks referenced, then fill in the boxes to list the names of what is being compared/contrasted.
Discuss similarities and differences. Fill in the differences on each
corresponding side of the circle, listing similarities in the overlapped space.
This is a great way to ensure each student is participating and actively engaged in class, as well as a fantastic tool to utilize in
critiquing works of art.
Students may follow-up this activity with a writing prompt, as this can be used as a reference for brainstorming or pre-writing—a great ELA/art connection!
A completed example is included, with embedded hyperlinks to artists' images.
