Included in this zip folder are 19 PDF files. 2 are for instruction, 1 is a student reference handout and 16 are assignments. A brief description of each:

Instruction file #1 is a 36 page introduction to reading a Venn diagram. Some formative assessment problems are included.

Instruction file #2 is a 25 page introduction to the complement of a set in a Venn diagram.

Assignment A is a matching assignment. The student matches 10 2 circle Venn diagrams with union, intersection and prime(not) notation. Then, there are 10 matching problems with 3 circles. It is on 1 page for easy printing.

Assignment B is a 24 multiple choice assignment. 12 questions ask to identify a shaded region based on union, intersection and prime notation. The other 12 problems uses words to describe a region. It is on 1 page for easy printing.

Assignment #1 is a 24 question short answer assignment and is free under preview. It is on 1 page for easy printing.

Assignment #1A is like #1.

Assignment #1B is also like #1.

Assignment #1BB is like #1.

Assignment #1C is like #1 but uses percents in the Venn diagram instead of numbers. This assignment is also available at socrative.com and the socrative share number is included in the file.

Assignment #1D is like #1 but uses probabilities as fractions in the Venn diagram instead of numbers. This assignment is also available at socrative.

Assignment #1E is like #1. The student must fill in the Venn circles, this time, to answer the questions.

Assignment #1F is like #1. The student is given percents from a survey and they must fill in the Venn diagram to answer questions.

Assignment #1G is like #1. The student is given fractions of groups from a survey and they must fill in the Venn diagram to answer questions.

Assignment 1H are empty diagrams and the student must fill them in based on coditions.

Assignment 1I are also empty diagrams like 1H.

Assignment #2 is a 24 question short answer assignment. 3 circles are used in this assignment instead of 2. The student is asked to identify the number in a group using union, intersection and prime notation. The student must find probabilities as well. It is on 1 page for easy printing.

Assignment #2A is like #2.

Assignment #3 is a 24 question short answer assignment. The emphasis is finding the union and intersection of 2 groups of overlapping Venn groups. The formula P(AorB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(AandB) is the focus.
