Teach children the fun way to learn that verbs are action words! This game consists of 25 cards that focus on acting out the verb word, and each child has to check their card to see if they have that verb. It's a simple game called "I have... Who has..."
The game starts off with each child having a card. A person is chosen to go first and they read their card aloud, only leaving out the verb word highlighted in bold red letters. That verb word is what the child will act out instead of speaking. "Who has (jump)?", so the child jumps. All other children will look at their cards. Only one other card will say "I have (jump)." The child holding that card will read, "I have (jump). Who has (laugh)?" And will laugh, giving the verb clue to the other children and waiting for another child to respond with, "I have (laugh). Who has (clap)?" The game continues until all of the children have had a turn.
The children really seem to love this game and it's a great activity when a little classroom get up and move break is needed...all while reinforcing a part of speech!
