Product Description
General description:

This verb conjugation game includes 12 activities focusing on reflexive verbs and infinitive expressions. The computer randomly chooses a reflexive verb presented in Realidades 2 © 2014 Capítulo 2A and provides various prompts to students for them to conjugate the verb, manipulate the reflexive object pronoun, and/or manipulate an infinitive expression.

I originally created this activity to help lower performers get past the “me despertarso” stage. My struggling students say it helps them learn the endings and they ask to do it several days in a row. All my students tell me this activity is fun.
All activities can be either automated with an adjustable timer or you can use the manual mode to choose your own pace. Start by inviting your students to calmly shout out answers to the questions they see as a big group. Then perhaps have the computer randomly draw a student’s name and have him/her alone answer the question.

You can load the names of your students (up to 40) in the last four slides. If you have a student who is absent, you can mark him absent and his name will not appear. Displaying individual names is a great way to keep students on their toes. You can enter the names one at a time or load them up from a text file—very handy if you intend to purchase additional products in this series!

This PowerPoint was designed on a Windows Operating System and is not recommended for use with a Mac at this time. If you are using PowerPoint for Mac, some functions may not work as expected.

Detailed description of the activities:

In activity #1, students are given a reflexive verb, its translation, and a person. Students are expected to correctly conjugate the verb in the present tense. You may choose to not show the translations of the verbs for any activity by adjusting the settings.

In activity #2 students are given a reflexive verb, its translation, and a person. Students are expected to create a question using those prompts in verb-subject order.

In activity #3 students see a simple question with a reflexive verb and respond to it. This activity forces students to think about the subject needed for a logical answer and produce the correct reflexive object pronoun. You may alter the settings of the program to respond to questions in the first person (yo or nosotros) with either the first person or the second person (formal or informal).

In activity #4 students are given a person and a reflexive verb that is conjugated—students will change the verb and the reflexive object pronoun to match a second subject. They will also see the infinitive and the translation of the verb.

In activity #5 students are given a person, an infinitive expression, and a reflexive verb. Using these prompts, students are to produce a sentence/phrase in the present tense and practice attaching the reflexive object pronoun to the infinitive.

In activity #6, students are given a person, an infinitive expression, and a reflexive verb. Using these prompts, students are to produce a question in the present tense, attaching the reflexive object pronoun to the infinitive.

In activity #7, are given questions including a reflexive verb and an infinitive expression. They are to respond to the question and attach the reflexive object pronouns to the infinitive.

In activity #8, students are given a person, an infinitive expression, and a reflexive verb. They will make a simple sentence/phrase and place the reflexive object pronoun in front of the conjugated verb.

In activity #9, students are given a person, an infinitive expression, and a reflexive verb. They are to create a question and place the reflexive object pronoun in front of the conjugated verb.

In activity #10, students respond to questions with infinitive expressions and reflexive verbs. They will place the reflexive object pronoun in front of the conjugated verb.

In activity #11, students are given a sentence with an infinitive expression. The program will randomly choose where the reflexive object pronoun appears. Students will practice moving the reflexive object pronoun to its other acceptable location.

In activity #12, students will see a question with a reflexive verb and an infinitive expression. The location of the reflexive object pronoun will be randomly determined by the computer. Students are to practice moving the reflexive object pronoun to its alternate location.

In order to use this PowerPoint correctly you must enable macros on your computer. When you open the presentation, near the top of the screen you will see a question asking for your permission to run the code which enables this PowerPoint to function.
