General Product Description
This macro enabled PowerPoint flashes prompts including infinitives, their translations, and pronouns for a variable number of seconds. Your students will say the correct form of the verb in the present tense. There are many adjustments you can make in the settings menu, including how long to give your students to answer, how long to show the answer, and whether or not to show a translation of the verb or stem changes. You may add your own students' names and have the computer randomly select a student to answer. You may also use the manual mode for writing activities.
This PowerPoint was designed on a Windows Operating System and is not recommended for use with a Mac at this time. If you are using PowerPoint for Mac, some functions may not work as expected.
A detailed description of the activities in the program:
In activity #1, students are given an infinitive, its translation, and a person. Students are expected to correctly conjugate the verb in the present tense.
In activity #2 students are given an infinitive, its translation, and a person. They are expected to create a question with the information provided. The trick here is putting the subject and verb in the correct order.
In activity #3 students see the question and need to respond to the question. This activity forces students to think about the correct subject required to make a sensible answer. You may alter the settings of the program to respond to questions in the first person with either the first person or the second person (formal or informal).
In activity #4 students are given a person and a verb that is conjugated—it is up to them to change the verb to match a second subject. They will also see the infinitive and the translation of the verb. You may choose to not show the translations of the verbs for any activity by adjusting the settings.
Verbs are divided into regular and “special verbs”—irregular verbs and others that are confusing for students, like hacer or llamarse. The PowerPoint includes three versions of the four activities described above. In the first set students will practice only regular verbs. In the second set they will practice irregular and special verbs. In the third set all the verbs are mixed together.
