Students of all ages love to play games. Why not allow them to learn verb tense while they play a game that they also like? The following is a verb tense game especially designed for 5th & 6th grade students.
This game has 24 scoot cards. Each card contains a sentence with the verb or verbs underlined. Your students must identify the type of verb used. This set contains all the forms of verbs: simple forms, perfect forms, progressive forms, and perfect progressive forms.
I recommend printing these cards off on cardstock and laminating them. Then, provide students with an answer key sheet. This way they can be used over and over again.
All you have to do is set a time for 20 to 25 seconds. Place at card at a different spot in your room. Place one student at each card and start the timer. Once timer goes off the students will rotate from their original station and move the next card. You continue this until each student has answered all the cards.
This is a fun, fast pace review game that your students will love!
