Verb Tense Shifts Paragraph Revising Worksheets. These two grammar worksheets each have a paragraph with the verb tenses all mixed up. The students rewrite and revise the paragraph, correcting the shifts in tense so the paragraph reads clearly. (This is a common grammar mistake, and this practice will help students recognize the problem.) Then students also underline all the verbs they found in the paragraph. The first story is about a summer canoe trip and the second story is about a summer camping trip.
You have 2 options for differentiation. You may use the sheet with 2 per page for saving paper copies. Students will write the paragraph on their own piece of paper and do the revision there. Or, you may use the full size copy for students to correct directly on the worksheet. Includes a set of student directions which you can project on a whiteboard or print out for centers or small groups.
Can be used in centers and then students can self check the key. Great end of the year activity or use at the beginning of the year when students are returning from summer vacations to assess what they know. Perfect for the first week of school or anytime.
Supports common core standards for Language Grade 5* and up. .
