This is a simple tic-tac-toe game designed to help practice producing -ing verbs in isolation or in short sentences. Nine verbs are pictured (eat, dance, kick, read, make, cut, sleep, jump, swim).
Students take turns choosing a picture to describe. Depending on their goal, they may say just the verb ("read"), a short phrase (e.g. "he is reading") or make up their own sentence ("The boy is reading his favorite book."). After correctly describing the picture, they put either an 'x' or 'o' on the spot. The first person to get three in a row wins.
Can easily be adapted for repetitive use in the therapy room by laminating the board and pieces or can be sent home for homework as a more engaging alternative to worksheets.
