This is a No-Print Speech Therapy activity; however, you can always print it if you choose!
The news room has gone crazy! The newspaper articles are being written, but with incorrect irregular past tense verbs. It’s your job to fix the story in time for it to run in the newspaper. This activity can be printed; however, it’s designed to be used on an iPad or on the computer. There are interactive components!
Once you touch “start,” the student is shown a clipboard that contains a story with incorrect verbs (highlighted in red). The student reads the story aloud and then pretends to be a news reporter and reports the story again using the correct irregular past tense verbs. To see if he/she was correct, the student touches/clicks on the “CHECK ANSWERS” box in the bottom right hand corner, which will show the correct verbs. To move on, the student touches/clicks the “NEXT STORY” button in the bottom right hand corner. The SLP can print the answer key on pages 4-5 for online tracking.
There are 20 stories included. Each story targets 5 irregular past tense verbs. These stories can also be used to target listening comprehension, fluency, and/or articulation!
