This packet includes 7 verb printables and 1 homophone printable! This packet can be utilized as homework, extra practice for those struggling to understand verbs, independent practice, or work for early finishers. Below are a list of the worksheet titles and a description of each activity.
ISpy Verbs! The students will look at an assortment of Christmas ornaments and color in each ornament that contains a verb.
When to Add –s to a Verb: The students will learn that an –s is only added to the end of a verb if there is a third-person singular noun as the subject of the sentence. The students will read several sentences and circle the verb that best fits each sentence. The students will also learn the rule about when you need to –es to the end of a verb. Then, students will practice adding –es to the end of some verbs.
Verbs! The students will read a sentence and write the correct action verb in the Christmas bulb to complete each sentence.
Past-tense Verbs: The students will look at verbs written inside wreaths and determine which verb is spelled correctly in its past-tense form. Then, the students will color in those wreaths.
Past/Present Verb Sort: This is a cut, sort, and glue activity. The students will read different verbs inside Christmas ornaments and sort them into two groups: past tense or present tense.
Irregular Verbs: The students will match different verbs to their irregular past-tense form. Then, the students will underline the past-tense verb in several sentences.
Irregular Verbs: The students will match additional verbs to their irregular past-tense form. Then, the students will underline the past-tense verb in several sentences.
Bonus: Homophones! The students will match homophones together by drawing a line from one Christmas ornament to another.
