Verbs can be fun! This grammar resource contains 8 grammar centers to help your little learners master all kinds of verbs.
♥ Verb or Noun? Sorting Activity
-Students will read the word cards and sort them into categories Verb or Noun. A sorting mat and a recording sheet are provided. (Includes 12 verb cards and 12 noun cards cards.)
♥ My Little Book of Verbs Writing Center
-Students will write a mini-book of verbs. A personal word wall is provided.
♥ Is It a Verb? Task Cards
-Students will read the word on the card and determine if it is a verb or not a verb. A recording sheet is provided. This activity could also be used as a Read-the-Room activity or SCOOT game. (Includes 30 task cards.)
♥ Verb or Adjective? Tiny Word Search
-Students use a magnifying glass to search for verbs and adjectives in the picture. A recording sheet is provided. I’ve also included a black & white version as well.
♥ Roll-a-Verb Dice Roll Activities (2)
-Students will roll a die. They will match the number rolled to a verb on their recording sheet and write the word. The first word to the top is the “winner”.
♥ Add-a-Verb Sentence/Verb Matching Activity
-Students will match the sentence card with the verb card that can be used to complete the sentence. They will record the sentences on their recording sheet. (Includes 6 sentences.)
♥ Past or Present Verb? Task Cards
-Students will read the sentence on the card and determine if the underlined verb is past or present tense. They will record their answers on the recording sheet. (Includes 18 task cards.)
♥ Verb Match-It Puzzles
-Students will match a picture puzzle piece to the puzzle piece that contains the verb that matches the picture clue. An optional recording sheet is provided. (Includes 15 puzzles.)
