Independent or small group practice matching games. These are easily stored in foldable pockets. There are 48 milk and donut cards for 24 matches for each game. I laminate the colored version and keep for small group instruction. The black and white version my students keep in baggies (or you can glue into interactive notebooks). My students keep for a few weeks of play and then they take them home to practice during homework time.
Game 1: Matching present tense verbs with irregular past tense verbs.
Game 2: Matching past tense verbs with one of the 3 'ed' ending sounds.
There is a set of brag tags you can offer for an incentive for speed matching. I also included a lanyard for students to wear. Students who have mastered the cards become the "Expert" during small group work time which allows me to work with groups and have the Expert check other student matches to make sure they are correct. This is a fun quick way for me to assess if students are mastering a standard.
