This mentor sentences activity pulls sentences from the book The Hunger Games. I have pulled 30 sentences from chapter 24 to study verbs and verb phrases. This is a grammar exercise that contains:
* A graphic organizer (pictured in thumbnails) for students to define/ list action, linking, and helping verbs.
* 15 sentences with underlined verbs for students to identify their verbs as action or linking, and an answer key
* 15 sentences where students underline the complete verb phrase. Students are given a clue, as the number of verb phrases is provided at the end of each sentence.
30 mentor sentences for students to identify verbs and verb phrases!
