Using some strategies I have learned from ACTFL workshops, I routinely turn memes and other social media-inspired images into teachable moments via scaffolded questions. I post these on my fan page at Facebook.com/PicantePractices as "funges," or "fun sponges". Occasionally, I collect them, augment them with more questions and scaffolding, and package them here as a set.
Included are expressions, puns, truisms, silly faces and animals, with the point not being that the kids translate everything, but that they can engage the various artifacts via level-appropriate questions. Use these for the first five minutes of your classes every now and again to keep things topical, or print 'em three-to-a-page for when you feel like crud and need interesting sub plans.
¡Ojo! These are memes made by folks who aren't Spanish teachers! There are occasional mistakes that native speakers make in them.
Thanks for looking!
