Agamographs provide a fun unique way of viewing art. My students are fascinated and get so excited with this art idea.
This resource is a hands-on Veterans Day themed activity that combines two separate images into one are piece, which the viewer can then see – from different angles - each picture independently.
This activity involves coloring-in, cutting, gluing and folding. You will require; coloring-in materials (pencils, felts, etc), scissors, glue-sticks.
This resource has 12 Veterans Day themed images (‘HERO’, soldier saluting flag, US Flag, heart shaped US flag, poppy flower, 3 medals, 3 plane flyover, camouflage pattern, camouflage jeep, plain jeep, camouflage cap, and memorial crosses), paired into all 55 combinations to put together and create the agamograph.
This resource is excellent for creating a quick piece art to display.
There are two levels of challenge;
1. the final image is composed of 8 strips (4 strips for one Veterans Day image and 4 strips for the other), suitable for younger students
2. the final image is composed of 16 strips (8 strips for one Veterans Day image and 8 strips for the other)
I have also included blank templates for students to create their own two images to combine.
Some of the images have small areas to color in and will best suit students with fine motor skills.
