Hello! Thank you for purchasing A Veteran’s Day Parade of Language and Processing Activities. Six Diverse Lessons!
There are six diverse language lessons included in this packet within the theme of Veterans Day.
Lessons are as follows:
Lesson 1 was designed for the development and understanding of similes in the Veterans Day theme. As your students learn to develop knowledge about Veterans Day, they will learn how to formulate similes by completing the simile with a noun and further with descriptive adjectives with a noun.
Lesson 2 is for the development of irregular past tense verbs. Students are provided with future tense verb forms and are then required to produce the verbs in the past tense form, either by providing just the verb or the verb in a sentence.
Lesson 3 is for following directions containing linguistic concepts of inclusion/exclusion, sequential, quantitative and spatial. 12 terms.
Lesson 4 is a Veteran’s Day Parade scene in which students are required to identify the soldiers described, increase morpho-syntactic structure by repeating what the soldiers say and following directions containing spatial concepts that require the students to manipulate pieces to complete the scene.
Lesson 5 is an inferencing mini-book designed to develop inferencing skills by requiring students to respond to questions when provided with a scenario. There are 8 pages in the mini-book. Each page has two to three questions that require the student to employ inferencing skills.
Lesson 6 is a Veteran’s Day questionnaire to promote interactive responses to questions and develop social skills. The page is in black and white and the questions are thought provoking for the age. Students enjoy responding to questions and sharing their thoughts and ideas.
Clip-art was purchased for this lesson through www.ScrappinDoodles.com or downloaded from www.mycutegraphics.com.
