This short play was originally created for a Veterans Day assembly. It is written for 18 students, though parts could be split or combined to accommodate a different-sized group. It could also be used for a Readers' Theater activity.
This play explains what a veteran is and highlights some familiar veterans that children may know about.
For our play, we created posters of the characters that each student could hold while speaking. This allowed more than one student to be each character. We cut out the oval shape of the faces so that students could put their faces through and look more like the famous veterans.
